ABOUT ME | RESUME

I’m a writer by profession and a sarcasm connoisseur by obsession. My friends joke with me that if I were a doll; the accessories that would be in the box with me would be a laptop, a camera and a skinny caramel latté. It’s like I want to capture everything and if I don’t, I won’t remember it. Like some Tina Fey reboot of Memento. I love the movie Clueless, I am terrified of birds, I appreciate swagger, and I have occasional hipster tendencies.

I grew up in Bombay, when it was still Bombay, but realized young that I was never going to 'find myself' here. That's when my journey started. I went to The University of Notre Dame, in the US where I was quite the 'fish out of water,' in a predominantly white and Catholic university, I quickly learned the greatest thing about being at a place where you stick out is that you learn how to embrace the unique. It was at Notre Dame where my inherent distaste for conformity and artificiality (and snow) took root, while my compulsive passion for film, television and storytelling flourished.

I declared Film/Television as my major, with a side of "Would you like fries with that?" and never looked back.

After graduation, my journey naturally progressed to Los Angeles, where, for five years I struggled and reveled in the exhilarating yet unyielding drive of Hollywood. My climb up the proverbial ladder led me across the field, working in Casting, Production, Development in Reality and Scripted television, and film. Some highlights include Mad Men, Private Practice, E! Live From the Red Carpet, and B-Girl.

As a writer, I have written 2 feature films, 3 television pilots, and I am currently developing a range of new projects.

In 2012, almost 10 years later, I moved back to Bombay. After a brief stint at a production house, I quickly realized I wanted to be a part of the intensely creative indie-space which was burgeoning in India. I set up my own studio 'Little Fish Picture Company,' which focuses on photography, film, design and writing.

As a creator, I've always drawn upon an instinctive desire to embrace the unconventional. I have an overactive imagination with an obsessive wanderlust. I am a vivid dreamer, a believer in magic, and someone who has a constant infatuation with creating. My work has to come from an authentic space of passion - it has to be exciting to me!
